Today， we will talk about a fun festival—International Animation Day. October 28th is International Animation Day. Animation is everywhere these days.

◆History of International Animation Day

One hundred and twenty-eight years ago， the first animated film in history was played on October 28 in 1892 by a French man， Reynaud. It let so many people’s dream come true.
一百二十八年前，历史上第一部动画电影由一个法国人雷诺在1892年10月28日放映。这让很多人的梦想成真。
To celebrate4 this great time， the International Animation Association5 designated6 October 28 as the World Animation Day to share fun of animation.
为了庆祝这一伟大时刻，国际动画协会将10月28日定为世界动画日来分享动画的乐趣。
It’s a day to know lots of artists， the scientists7 and the technicians8 behind movies.
在这一天，我们可以认识电影背后的很多艺术家、科学家和技术人员。
In the past， we made cartoons with hand-drawn9 pictures and paintings. Today， we use new science and technology to draw pictures on computers.

My favorite cartoon character is Doraemon. Because he’s so cool， and he can get lots of interesting tools from his pocket13， I wish I could be one of his friends.
