从文人士大夫染指绘画,到文人画成为一个自足的绘画体系成为中国画的主流形态,这期间经历了漫长的发展历程。其经历大体可分为以诗入画、以书入画、以金石入画三个阶段。这三个阶段无法作明确的划分,但在一个历史时期也有着相对明确一致的整体倾向,这些倾向性之间又呈现出明显转折或放大的趋势,因此考察这些倾向性,事实上即是对文人画史发展历程转捩点的考察,又可以关照到当下的中国画创作。一、以诗入画
