The purpose of radiation therapy is to increase the local control rate of the tumor and/or reduce the incidence and severity of side effects. One of the ways to achieve this goal is to bring the treatment volume closer to the clinical target volume (CTV). The extension of CTV’s boundary is due to the presence of confounding and uncertain factors such as differences in organ movement and CTV form size, patient movement, and setup errors during the treatment process. These systematic or random deviations can be observed through the imaging system of the planning system and the treatment system during fractional treatment or during treatment.
