草埝公社位于江苏里下河地区的腹部,多为沤田改旱地,土质粘重,含水量大,通透性差;加之近几年来,化肥施用量不断增加,导致土壤板结,耕作层变浅,土壤有机质含量减少,地力下降。而且本区土壤沤改旱后,普遍缺磷,使粮棉产量高而不稳。因此,近二、三年来,全社由点到面,逐步推广秸草直接还田,收到明显效果。
