巨佳茄子是平泉县南五十家子村左连清等四户种植培育成功的。该品种具有果大、丰产、优质、耐贮等特点,而且抗病、耐盐碱。最突出的特点是茄实之大实为罕见,一般单果重2.5—4.5公斤,最大的4.95公斤。现简介如下:一、丰产。该品种门茄为椭圆形,对茄以上者为短筒形,果皮呈深紫红色,油光锽亮。因其果实特大,所以产量也特别高、一般亩产1万公斤以上,高者可达1.5万公斤,相当一般品种的4—5倍(见封底照片)。二、优质。巨佳茄子果个虽大,但不易老熟,而且种子极少,肉质细嫩,口感滑溜、好吃。三、耐贮。后期成熟的茄子于霜前采收,在5—10℃条件下,可贮存到元旦,果实不霉不烂。四、生物特性。巨佳茄子为中熟品种。根系发达,株高1.5米左右,六叶一心见花蕾,八片叶时门茄座果,以后每二至三片叶座一层果。每个果实从开花到采收只需25天左右。该品种在盐碱生茬地栽
