要了解美国经济,凭借旧观念和旧指标已经远远不够了。有些美国经济学家认为,美国今天有两种工业:夕阳工业和朝阳工业,夕阳工业是萧条的,朝阳工业是繁荣的: 所谓夕阳工业,是指传统的基础工业,如钢铁、汽车、建筑、纺织以及与它们相关的一些附属部门。所谓朝阳工业,是指新兴的尖端工业,如电子、信息、机器人、生物技术、海洋开发和宇宙航行等等。
To understand the U.S. economy, it is far from enough to rely on old ideas and old indicators. Some U.S. economists think that there are two kinds of industries in the United States today: the sunset industry and the sunrise industry. The sunset industry is sluggish and the sunrise industry is prosperous. The so-called sunset industry refers to the traditional basic industries such as steel, automobiles, construction, Textiles and some of their affiliates. The so-called sunrise industry, refers to the emerging cutting-edge industries, such as electronics, information, robotics, biotechnology, marine development and space navigation and so on.
