The second academic seminar of the National Academy of Chinese Medicinal Herb Research was held on December 11, 1990 in Zhengzhou. Fifty-four delegates from 16 provinces, cities, centrally-affiliated units and the army attended the conference. The meeting was chaired by Comrade Wang Xiaotao, the president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Delegates first listened to the reports of 12 experts and scholars on the quality standards of Chinese Herbal Medicines. Then what are the contents of the quality evaluation standards of Chinese Herbal Medicines and the connotation of quality standards?
