[Our newsletter] On October 14, 2016, an international symposium on exploration and development of dry-hot rocks resources was held in Beijing. Yan Guangsheng, chief engineer of China’s Geological Survey, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Yan Guangsheng stressed that building a clean and low-carbon global energy system is the hope of all countries in the world. Dry-hot rocks are high-temperature rock masses that exist in the deep part of the earth and are the most promising strategic alternative energy sources. The deep earth contains a great deal of resources and energy, which is the material and energy foundation that sustains the survival of all things. It requires energy and resources to the deep, increases reserves of energy and resources, and alleviates the shortage of energy and resources so as to ensure the safety and sustainability of human society
