The National Biosecurity Agency (NB) in Kenya has approved Monsanto MON810 with pest resistance for environmental release testing, but this approval applies only to field and qualification tests. In June 2015, the NBA did not authorize the cultivation, importation and sale of the variety of maize seeds, despite the request of the African Agricultural Technology Foundation and the Kenyan Agriculture and Livestock Research Institute.
