党的十一届三中全会以后,我区经济迅猛发展,异军突起的乡镇企业首先在这里崛起。1985年无锡市郊区的经济发展雄居全国同等城市之首,被誉为“神州大地第一郊”,1996年我区工业总产值160亿元,其中村办工业产值96.5亿元。由于经济的发展,服务于经济工作的档案事业也发展起来了,村级建档工作也应运而生。 我区的村级建档工作,1990年开始酝酿,1991年着手实施,1994年完成,全区108个村,村村建成了
