该枣主要特点是:(1)果型特大。一般单果重50克左右,最重80克。打破了枣树史上的单果重纪录,被誉为“枣中之王”。(2)特晚熟。完全成熟期11月上旬(农历立冬至小雪),成为晚熟之最。(3)极耐储藏。由于该枣成熟期晚,只要稍加处理,可在一般室内储藏半年到一年,极耐干旱。嫁接苗木成活后,6个月不下雨、不浇水仍可获得丰收。1992年当地遇到历史上罕见的特大干旱,从早春(1月)至7月26日才下第一场大雨,雪枣树下的杂草因干旱而枯死,而该枣树仍能枝繁叶茂,茁壮成长,硕果累累。(5)极丰产。一般当年栽植,当年见果,二年丰产,三年进入盛果期,前期产量非常高,当年单芽单株嫁接,只要砧木
