I. Preface The aluminum-zinc-magnesium alloy is the foundation of various engineering light alloys which is rapidly developing at present. These alloys have a number of interesting properties: most of them are solution heat treated, followed by quenching and tempering or aging to achieve tissue strengthening. In general, the conditions for heat treatment are simple, as usually solution heat treatment can be carried out over a wide temperature range (350-520 ° C) and many of these alloys are spontaneously quenchable.
