作为20世纪著名的现实主义小说,《了不起的盖茨比》通过其主人公的爱情悲剧向我们展现了当时美国社会的病态。本文主要从主观和客观两个方面对盖茨比爱情悲剧的成因进行分析,将主观因素归结为盖茨比对美国梦的狂热及对爱情的盲目,客观因素则归结为当时社会阶层间的隔阂及女主人公黛西的冷漠拜金。最后,对小说产生的社会启示进行解读,并提出了道德重建的主题。
As a famous realist novel of the 20th century, “The Great Gatsby” shows us the morbid state of American society through the love tragedy of her protagonist.
