我厂1984年停建军品,就地转民。厂党政领导班子在极度困难的情况下,团结带领广大党员、职工,发扬“团结、自强、拼搏、创业”的企业精神,经过5年努力,相继建成了装机容量3万千瓦的热电厂、年产40万套摩托车消声器的机械厂、年产3000吨的电解金属锰厂和年产1500万条塑料编织袋厂等十几个民品生产项目,做到自己养活自己,不再吃国家补贴;1993年又建成年产30万吨合成氨/52万吨尿素的大型化肥厂,使年生产总值连年翻番。
