通过对东天山觉罗塔格地区路白山、夹白山及雅满苏一带石炭纪生物地层及年代地层研究,厘定了石炭系地层序列,划分出了□带、四射珊瑚及腕足类化石组合,确定雅满苏组下段、中段地质时代为早石炭亚纪大塘世旧司期-上司期,上段时代为大塘世德坞期,与海相火山岩型铁矿有关的火山岩层位多为大塘世旧司期.根据古生物化石组合确定了底坎尔组地质时代为晚石炭亚纪威宁世罗苏期,土古土布拉克组时代为威宁世滑石板期,与火山岩型铁矿有关的火山岩层位为威宁世滑石板期.此外,通过区域岩石地层对比及地层时代研究,认为前人在雅满苏组之下所划分的小热泉子组在区域上可出现在雅满苏组的中下部,层位极不稳定,应予废弃.在上述年代地层序列的研究基础上,最后对觉罗塔格地区石炭纪大地构造背景演化进行了讨论.
