Objective To investigate the knowledge, attitude and behavior of first aid for college students in Guangzhou and to provide basis for popularizing the knowledge of first aid and improving the ambition of first aid. Methods A cluster sampling method was used to investigate 1,015 undergraduates in four universities in Guangzhou by anonymous self-completed questionnaire. Results The average score of first aid knowledge for college students was (5.9 ± 1.8) points. The awareness rates of emergency telephone number and common injuries were higher than 60%. However, the awareness rate of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and tourniquet use (46.7% and 24.5% respectively). There was a statistically significant difference in the first aid knowledge and passing rate between different grades, major students, relatives and friends, whether they were sick and whether they participated in first aid training within 3 years (P <0.05). (P0.05). The average score of first aid attitude was (23.44 ± 3.21) points. The multiple linear regression results showed that first aid knowledge, first aid behavior, first aid ability self-evaluation score, The average score of first aid was (22.19 ± 3.46) points, the first aid attitude was scored, relatives and friends engaged in the pharmaceutical industry, and whether they participated in the first aid training in the last three years were the influencing factors; the first aid was not taken in college students The main reason for training is that there are fewer school-related courses (48.2%). Conclusion Guangzhou college students have a positive attitude toward first aid and their behavior is positive. However, the knowledge of first aid is not ideal. Colleges and universities should explore a variety of universal ways to train first aid and enhance the knowledge reserve of first aid for college students.
