文学作品中的动物意象具有丰富的内涵,《金色笔记》中的鸽子是“和平的使者”、“圣灵的记号”和“爱情的象征”。文章通过对小说中屡屡被屠杀的鸽子象征寓意的分析来揭示作者对导致非洲大陆动荡、暴力与死亡行径的谴责与鞭挞,并以此来论证多丽丝·莱辛的社会批判主题:弱肉强食是自然界不变的法则。
The animal images in literary works have rich connotations. The pigeons in Golden Notes are the Messenger of Peace, the token of the Holy Spirit, and the symbol of love. Through the analysis of the symbolic meaning of pigeons, which are often massacred in novels, the article reveals the author’s condemnation and lashing of the acts that led to the turmoil, violence and death in the African continent, and uses it to demonstrate Doris Lessing’s social criticism theme: The laws of nature.
