北京天宁寺塔,雄峙于北京西二环路西侧的楼群之上。这座巍然耸立的古塔,经建筑学家梁思成推测,乃建于辽代。距今已经有900年的历史了。北京天宁寺的历史,要早于古塔。古寺自公元五世纪北魏孝文帝时期始建,其间经历兵火战乱,几番存毁,直至清末再度坍毁。寺名也几经更迭,初名光林寺,又名宏业寺、天王寺、大万安寺,到明代始得现名“天宁寺”。虽然寺废塔存,但塔名依旧延续了寺名。
Beijing Tianning Temple Tower, Xiong Zhi on the west side of the Second Ring Road in Beijing buildings above. This towering pagoda, speculated by the architect Liang Sicheng, was built in the Liao Dynasty. It has been 900 years ago. Beijing Tianning Temple history, earlier than the ancient tower. The temple was built during the reign of Xiaowen Emperor from the Northern Wei Dynasty in the 5th century AD, during which time the war and wars were repeated and destroyed until the end of the Qing Dynasty. Temple name also after several changes, the first name Guanglin Temple, also known as Hongye Temple, Tennoji, Dawa’an Temple, the Ming Dynasty to the present name “Tianning Temple ”. Although the temple waste tower deposit, but the tower name still continues the name of the temple.
