The principle of a scroll compressor has been found in the 1905 U.S. patent. In 1974 the United States ADL company made a report suitable for helium compressors. In 1983, Hitachi Ltd. of Japan developed 2.2 ~ 4.5kW fully enclosed scroll compressor for air conditioners. The reason why a scroll compressor can not be extended within a period of 70 years is that the high-precision scroll is not easy to manufacture and the long-lasting drive mechanism is not available. Compared with piston and rotary piston type, the vortex type features small torque variation, no suction valve and exhaust valve, low sliding speed, less gas leakage in the compression space and fewer parts.
