近来图书馆学的发展步伐加快了,其学术内容也更丰富了,这在很大程度上是由于对其理论基础和方法基础的积极研究。在图书馆专业出版物中,就图书馆学的对象与客体、图书馆学在科学体系中的地位和图书馆科学中的类型学等展开的讨论都说明了对一般理论问题的关注。虽然不是一切有争论的问聪都到了解决,但讨论本身就表明了对图书馆学理论研究的浓厚兴趣,而这又将使应用研究的水平得到提高。
Recently, the pace of development of library science has accelerated, and its academic content has also been enriched. This is due in large part to the active study of its theoretical foundations and methodological bases. In the professional publications of the library, discussions on the subject and object of library science, the position of library science in the scientific system, and the typology in library science all illustrate the concern with general theoretical issues. Although not all controversial questions have been resolved, the discussion itself has shown a keen interest in the study of the theory of library science, which in turn will raise the level of applied research.
