“观察玉米杂种后代粒色的分离现象”和“玉米两对相对性状的杂交实验”是配合遗传学教学的两个实验。按传统方法进行,是学员左手握玉米果穗,右手拿铅笔,在开始数数的竖行画一标记,然后用眼看、用笔指、用嘴数,把每个性状数完为止。每次只能数一个性状,为了避免数数出错,每个性状常要数两遍。这样,前一个实验每种玉米果穗要数四次、计八次;后一实验每种玉米果穗要数四次和八次、计十二次。
“The Separation of Kernels from Maize Hybrid Offspring,” and the “Hybridization Experiment of Two Maize pairs of Relative Traits,” are two experiments with Genetics. According to the traditional method, the trainee holds the ear of corn in the left hand, takes the pencil in the right hand, draws a mark in the vertical line of the beginning number, and then uses the pen point and the mouth number to finish each trait. Only one trait can be counted at a time, in order to avoid the number of errors, each trait often twice. Thus, in the previous experiment, the number of ears of each maize was counted four times, counting eight times. In the latter experiment, the number of ears of each maize was counted four times and eight times, accounting for twelve times.
