The standard competition for intra-server chip connections has recently been a white-hot one. After both IBM and HP said they will begin in 2004 and their PCI-X technology in servers, rival Dell is tending to adopt a different standard called PCI Express. In the major manufacturers support different standards, the market is expected to have some fierce competition.
