1994年9月,中国国家主席江泽民访问法国期间,不仅接见了数十位旅法华侨、华人代表,还单独接见了法国华人首富陈克威、陈克光两兄弟,这显然是一种特殊的礼遇。“陈氏兄弟公司”在巴黎及近郊拥有5个大型超级商场,经营亚洲食品与日用品的批发及零售业务。仅总店就有2000平方米的铺面、6000平方米的停车场以及10000多平方米的仓库。另外,公司还拥有2个东方美食餐厅。1989年的年营业额已达到7亿多法郎,1992年陈氏公司位列法国批发及进口业“龙虎榜”第114位。法国权威的《新经济学人》杂志,从1987年起,便将陈氏公司列入全法国5000家大企业之一。法国法中委员会还接纳陈氏公司为会员,该会接纳与中国大陆有贸易往来的著名企业103家,陈氏公司是唯一的一家华人企业。
