中国科学院中国现代化研究中心日前在京公布了《中国现代化报告2004》。该报告指出,2002年中国仍处于第一次现代化的发展期,属初等发达国家。“第一次现代化”和“第二次现代化”概念是由中国学者于20世纪90年代提出的。这两个概念将18世纪以来的世界现代化进程分为两大阶段:第一次现代化以发展工业经济为基本特征,第二次现代化以发展知识经济为基本特征。
Chinese Modernization Research Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences recently released “China Modernization Report 2004” in Beijing. The report pointed out that in 2002 China was still in the stage of its first modernization and was an advanced developed country. The concepts of “First Modernization” and “Second Modernization” were proposed by Chinese scholars in the 1990s. These two concepts divide the process of world modernization from the 18th century into two stages: the first modernization takes the development of industrial economy as its basic feature, the second modernization takes the development of knowledge economy as the basic feature.
