3月9日,日本政府同美国、韩国在纽约签订了关于同美国和韩国一起建立朝鲜半岛能源开发组织(KEDO)的协议。KEDO的建立是美国和朝鲜对话的结果。 KEDO将支持在朝鲜建造轻水反应堆。参加日本-朝鲜正常化对话和亚太合作的前任大使Tetsuya Endo先生被任命为主管KEDO的大使。日本政府在3月7日内阁会议上决定草签该协议。
On March 9, the Japanese government signed agreements with the United States and South Korea in New York on establishing a KEDO with the United States and South Korea. The establishment of KEDO is the result of the dialogue between the United States and North Korea. KEDO will support the construction of a light water reactor in North Korea. Mr. Tetsuya Endo, the former Ambassador to North Korea’s normalization dialogue and Asia-Pacific cooperation, was appointed Ambassador for KEDO. The Japanese government decided to draft the agreement at a March 7 cabinet meeting.
