本文探讨《象祠记》一文在阳明心学体系中的地位,认为其反映了王阳明龙场悟道之后构建心学体系初期的思想,可视为后来“致良知”说问世的前奏。《象祠记》中“天下无不可化之人”的提出是对孟子“性善论”的发展,“化”是灵魂,且有“主体之化”与“客体之化”的不同疏解。其“爱屋及乌”说、“舜善用人”说、“舜善化人”说及“人性本善”说,基本存在于道德认知的层面。《象祠记》中所反映的祭象的精神实质,更重要的还在于它的意义世界的层面,通过对与宗教相关不同角度的分析,提示人的生命存在的意义,这其实也是祭象背后深藏着的真实意蕴。
