任店盆地位于河南确山县任店、留庄一带,呈NW—SE向展布,面积约70平方公里,为一受北西西向构造控制的中、新生代断陷盆地。河南省地质局第十二地质队1979年于西谭楼村任_2孔中发现厚度较大的暗色岩层,含极其丰富的晚期中生代化石群。 任_2孔的岩性以暗色泥岩、粉砂岩、细砂岩及泥灰岩为主,属湖泊—沼泽相沉积。厚约551.93米。上与上第三系砂砾岩层不整合接触,下伏岩层以棕红色中、细粒砂岩为主。产丰富的介形类、瓣鳃类、轮藻、腹足类、叶肢介、孢粉及零星植物化石。笔者命名为西谭楼组,可分为上、下两段。现将任_2孔钻井剖面叙述如下:
