The origin of the French Revolution has been one of the liveliest areas of historiography,not only to historians,but also to the public who are interested in the weste history.However,in recent years,scholars have shown little interest in this topic which is barely mentioned in the two important collections published in French:La Révolution fran(c)aise au carrefour des recherches and La Révolution à lceuvre:perspectives actuelles dans lhistoire de la Révolution fran(c)aise.
