Our Jiangsu Yangtze River Light Transfer Co., Ltd. is a backbone transportation company directly under the Jiangsu Provincial Communications Department. It mainly deals in the business of the Changjiang River Ferry, the Yangtze River Passenger Crossing, the Yangtze River trunk cargo transportation, ship repair, and tourism. In 1991, it was rated as a national secondary enterprise. The company has eight sub-units, namely, Qidu Branch, Passenger Crossing Branch, Freight Branch Company, Ship Repair Shop, Changyi Material Company, Jiangyin Changjiang Travel Agency, and Jingjiang Shiyan Port Company. The company currently employs 780 employees. The original value of 52 million yuan. In 1993, the company’s steam and ferry transported 1.92 million vehicles and passenger ferries.
