中国最大的无线运营商中国移动与北电网络签订了一份价值近3600万美元的合同,由北电网络负责扩展其在河北省的 GSM 数字蜂窝网络。此次网络扩容工程是基于北电网络 Univity* GSM 接入和核心网络解决方案,还包括实施 GPRS 技术,使网络能够支持无线数据业务。计划于2003年年中完工。届时,中国移动河北分公司的网络容量将有显著提高,使河北省的用户数量增加180万。
China Mobile, China’s largest wireless carrier, signed a contract with Nortel Networks worth nearly 36 million U.S. dollars, with Nortel Networks extending its GSM digital cellular network in Hebei province. The network expansion project is based on Nortel Networks Univity * GSM access and core network solutions, including the implementation of GPRS technology to enable the network to support wireless data services. It is scheduled to be completed by mid-2003. By then, the network capacity of China Mobile Hebei Branch will be significantly increased, increasing the number of subscribers in Hebei Province by 1.8 million.
