在对经过根管治疗后的牙根进行冠修复时常须借助冠核。冠核的作用:(1)可修复牙质的实质性缺损,以取得良好的基牙预备形态。(2)可通过牙根获得良好的固位。(3)可增加对残根、残冠的保护与利用。就保护、加强牙齿、牙根来说,下述两点特别重要:(1)防止因内应力而产生牙根纵折,(2)防止因隙漏引起牙根继发龋。过去因使用冠钉等而很容易发生牙纵折,这是由于向牙根方向插入金属冠钉后与牙根直接接触而在其内部产生了楔力。为了避免这一不利因素,使冠钉与牙质及粘结剂
