Gas hydrates (clathrates) are crystalline solid compounds composed of low molecular weight gases such as water molecules and methane. Gas hydrates and methane deposits (carbonates associated with methane) were found at the top of the Hydrate Ridge on the edge of the Cassidian, which has a unique structure of high-magnesium calcite and aragonite. The term methane deposits is the term Kennett and Fackler Adams
