南京谚语“三天不吃青,肚里冒火星”。可见青菜(又名不结球白菜、小白菜)在人们生活中多么重要。青菜是蔬菜市场的“晴雨表”,但是青菜在南京却突出存在“伏缺”、“春缺”及抗病性弱的缺点。你知道吗?有一位女教授为了让千家万户四季都吃上鲜嫩的青菜倾注了自己全部的智慧和心血。这就是南京市委、市政府1993年10月12日在南京人民大会堂举行千人科技大会上重奖(10万元)的6名“科技功臣”中年龄最大的、农业科技女功臣曹寿椿教授。
