蕹菜又叫“空心菜”。吉安蕹菜品质优良,产量高,采摘期长,是城市鲜菜供应的重要蔬菜之一。全国许多省(市)每年从吉安调走蕹菜种子几十万斤,多的年份近百万斤。蕹菜新种、陈种简易鉴别如下:从库存的种子群体中,取出有代表性的种子样品混合,再从其中随机取出400粒进行鉴别。首先,用鼻子闻闻这批种子是否有清香气味,几有清香气味的是新种;无清香味或有霉酸味就是陈种,或陈种中掺入了新种。
