文学是指以语言文字为工具,以不同形式表现内心情感和再现一定时期、一定地域的社会生活。文学也是文化的一个组成部分,现当代文学课对留学生文化知识的累积以及沟通交流能力的培养起着巨大推动作用。当前把我国的优秀文学作品当成对外汉语文化教学的主要教学内容中,大多数有古代文学的教学内容高于现代文学的现象,在现当代文学中,大多数有现代文学的教学内容高于当代文学的现象。事实上留学生对现在我国的基本情况以及通俗的言语更有兴趣,无论是从文化知识的理解还是知识深层次的思考,留学生现当代文学课都要首先从当代文学开始。并且在当代文学方面,要加强现代知识水平的要求。
