The characteristics and laws of the output of fund papers are discussed through statistics of the published volume of photons in the Journal of Photonics in recent 10 years, the number of fund theses and the ratio of the fund theses. The results show that the rate of fund theses in the Journal of Photonics rose rapidly from 2002 to 2011, of which 2 453 were published, accounting for 68.69% of the total; and the provincial and ministerial level papers were 1 046 Articles, accounting for 31.14%, ranked second. Fund papers accounted for a large proportion of 92% in 2011, the smallest share in 2002, only 59%. The National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National High-tech Research and Development Program, and the State Key Basic Research and Development Plan account for 58.82% of the total number of papers published by the three national fund projects. Papers funded by one fund accounted for 60%, papers funded by two funds accounted for 25.96%, and the proportion of papers funded by more than four funds was very small. The average degree of collaboration of theses and dissertations is about 1.38. Most of the dissertations are completed by 3-4 collaborators, accounting for 64.6% of the dissertation, and 39% of the dissertation is completed by 5 or 6 collaborators. This shows that researchers in optics Cooperation is carried out in a small area, usually 3 or 4 cooperation team is appropriate. This result shows the academic quality and academic level of the Journal of Photonics from a quantitative point of view and makes some suggestions for further improving the academic influence and academic value of the journal.
