川东北砂岩铀矿化赋存的地质环境较特殊,如岩层产状较平缓、红层和浅色层互层,构造简单,地表矿体大多出露在陡壁上,多数矿体则被厚几十米到几百米的岩层覆盖。一般采用钻探普查方法寻找盲矿体,盲目性较大。 1975年引进α径迹找矿技术后,1977年全大队见矿率由42％提高到54％,晕内见矿率在60％以上。例如2号地区某坪和某坡两处径迹异常验证结果较好,找到了三个小矿体,见表1。
