One hundred years after Protestant reform emerged, the basis for the concept of freedom of the press was that society recognized the historic accomplishment of the freedom of individual belief. Protestant affirmation of freedom of belief objectively provides the freedom for the individual to read and elucidate his own understanding of the Bible. However, the use of publishing means can not be suppressed, otherwise it is contrary to the basic teachings of Protestantism. However, the growth of capitalism causes the objective achievements made by the Protestant reforms to be transformed into different degrees of organic capitalism, resulting in the conversion of freedom of belief to freedom of science, academic freedom and political freedom. Freedom of the press, as an indispensable means of expressing the truth, has also gained its own freedom.
