认知科学背景上的文学研究大致可以分为两大类:一类强调认知的过程方面,即读者为理解文学语篇运用了哪些认知过程;另一类探讨人脑的知识表征和意义构建过程,即研究人脑是如何处理知识和创造意义的。认知科学背景上的文学研究对人类的认知研究具有重要意义,同时为文学研究提供了新的视角,丰富了文学研究,因而这一领域的研究具有广阔的前景。
