泰国泰国唯一的一个出口加工区于1982年4月在叻甲邦(Lard Krabang)工业区开放,叻甲邦工业区位于曼谷以东30公里。泰国虽然有一些其他的工业区和投资促进区为投资企业提供鼓励投资的优惠待遇和已开发的社会基础设施,但他们并非专门用于面向出口的。如果目前泰国政府正在重新研究投资优惠待遇的结果是撤销泰国投资委员会为投资企业所提供的一般优惠待遇的话,那么叻甲邦出口加工区将会成为更有吸引力了,因为出口加工区的投资优惠待遇很可能是不会被撤销掉的。
