據初步材料,從去年十月以來,在全國各級學校及社教機關内,約有六千萬人受到了抗美援朝的時事教育。這一教育開展的規律:一般是由報告、講演啓發初步認識然後到聯繫思想實際,由一般學校影響到教會學校,再由教會學校學生對美帝國主義的控訴,把一般學校的時事學習導向深入。特別在各高等學校和大部份中等學校里,抗美援朝的教育進行得比較系統深刻。教育開展之前,許多教員學生思想非常混亂。有的埋頭讀書,對時局認識麻痺,認爲“學會數理化,什麽都不怕”。有的認爲抗美援朝會“惹火傷身”。認爲美帝不是紙老虎,“它能打過三八綫,至少也是個木老虎”。有的聽說“美國是帝國主義”,很懷疑,甚至生氣。同時特務分子,帝國主義分子大肆活動,在解放較晚的新區更加猖獗。如重慶大學學生被特務逼迫自殺;明誠中學内帝國主義分子潘化隆毆辱學生;華中大學、金陵女子大學內美帝國主義分子習珍珠、费睿思公開誹謗侮辱中國人民;在不少學校内,反動分子公開散播“美國之音”,製造
