裂变径迹法从本世纪五十年代末提出后至今巳有二十多年的发展历史,实践证明它的确是分析样品中铀的一种高灵敏度的方法。虽然有不少工作者对于适于裂变径迹法分析用的薄源的制取方法已作过专题报道,但这些方法均难适于大量样品的快速分析。如电沉积法,电喷涂薄衬垫滴液法,均可制得面积大、面密度均匀的薄源,但速度慢、效率低;滴液法和浸片法,由于聚碳酸脂薄膜的不湿润性,无法获得径迹分布较均匀的源;
