March 31, 1996, Phoenix Satellite Television was established in Hong Kong. 45% by each of “Asia Today” and “Hong Kong Satellite TV”, another 10% by Huaying International Group, a subsidiary of the Bank of China, and three jointly founded by Phoenix Satellite Television Limited, with Liu Changle serving as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Phoenix Satellite TV to provide Chinese worldwide with high-quality Chinese TV programs, a huge global market with successful expansion strategy, so that Phoenix can be developed into a multi-channel Chinese television platform, its Phoenix Chinese
