淮河下游区第四系广泛发育,更新世地层已建立了相应的组一级地层单位,而全新世地层的建组名称至今没有确立。笔者依据工作中所获得的一些新资料整理成文,提出连云港组作为淮河下游区全新统组一级地层名称。 连云港组的建组剖面位于江苏省连云港市锦屏山南麓酒店采石坑的南壁,岩层出露清楚,富含孢粉及脊椎动物化石,并有C~(14)测年资料,现将剖面分层描述如后(图1):
The Quaternary in the lower reaches of the Huaihe River has been extensively developed. The corresponding Pleistocene strata have been established in the Pleistocene stratum, and the name of the formation of Holocene strata has not been established so far. Based on some new information obtained by the author, the author organizes the text and proposes that the Lianyungang Formation be the first-class Holocene strata name in the lower Huaihe River. The section of Lianyungang Formation is located on the southern wall of the hotel quarry in the south of Jinping Mountain in Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province. The rock formations are clearly exposed and rich in sporopollen and vertebrate fossils, with C ~ (14) dating data. The profile is described as follows (Figure 1):
