彩球凌空,花团锦簇。5月28日上午,中国科学院地球环境研究所在西安高新技术开发区新竣工的研究所大楼前正式挂牌成立。中科院院长路甬祥、陕西省省长程安东、中科院副院长陈宜瑜、西安市委书记崔林涛等中央部委、省市领导及有关院士等出席揭牌典礼并讲话。路甬祥院长、程安东省长、陈宜瑜副院长、崔林涛书记为研究所揭牌。中国科学院地球环境研究所是在原中国科学院西安黄土与第四纪地质研究室的基础上成立的,中科院院士、我国著名地质学家安芷生教授任所长,刘东生院士任名誉所长。研究所主要开展以黄土为核心的包括沙漠、湖泊、

On the morning of May 28, the Institute of Earth Environment of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was formally established in front of the newly completed Institute building in Xi’an High-tech Development Zone. Chinese Academy of Sciences Lu Yongxiang, Shaanxi Provincial Governor Cheng Andong, CAS Vice President Chen Yiyu, Xi’an Municipal Committee Cui Lintao and other central ministries, provincial leaders and relevant academicians attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. President Lu Yongxiang, Governor Cheng Andong, Vice President Chen Yiyu, secretary Cui Lintao unveiled for the Institute. The Institute of Earth Environment of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was established on the basis of the former Xi’an Institute of Loess and Quaternary Geology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Professor An Zhizheng, a famous geologist in China, served as director of the Institute and Mr. Liu Dongsheng was honorary director.
