21世纪甘薯技术国际研讨会于1991年6月2—6日在美国阿拉巴马州蒙哥马利城召开。本次会议的目的是:交流甘薯科研、生产和开发利用方面的情况和新技术进展;明确当前存在的问题和技术障碍;确定今后的研究主攻方向,以加强国际科技合作,特别是新技术利用方面的合作。出席研讨会的代表近百名,主要来自美国、加拿大、英国、日本等国的高等院校和科研单位,国际马铃薯中心(CIP)、国际热带农业研究所(IITA)、亚洲蔬菜研究发展中心(AVRDC)的科学家也出席了会议。笔者应邀出席了本次会
21st Century Sweet Potato International Symposium was held on June 2-6, 1991 in Montgomery, Alabama. The purpose of this meeting is to exchange information on scientific research, production, development and utilization of sweet potatoes and the progress of new technologies; clarify current problems and technical obstacles; and determine the main direction for future research so as to enhance international cooperation in science and technology, especially the use of new technologies Cooperation.
