程砚秋先生是我的恩师。抗日战争时期,程师在北京西郊青龙桥务农的事,多年来曾屡有报道,但大家对发生此事的起因知之不多。程师生前,我曾随他在青龙桥秉烛学戏。有一天,程师给我讲述了这件事的起因。当时,伪华北行政委员会的“委员长”王荫泰请程师吃饭,邀他演“献机”的丑剧。程师说:“他们请我唱戏筹款造飞机炸我们中国人,这种事我坚决不干!不去。”几天后王荫泰又来电话请程师
