短新闻在我国新闻界突然交上了好运: 1989年10月,中国记协发起现场短新闻评奖活动。1990年7月,这一评奖活动又从首都新闻单位扩展到全国。现场短新闻发奖大会之后,新华出版社仅用了20多天就赶排出首届现场短新闻获奖作品集,紧接着,几位年轻记者编辑的《新华社中青年记者短新闻选萃》又举行了首发式。与此同时,许多新闻单位纷纷召开以短新闻为中心议题的新闻研讨会。这一切是怎么发生的?促使短新闻繁荣的推动力
