有清一代,戏剧演出遍及城乡,成为人们文化娱乐生活的重要一部分。演出的内容、形式既为社会风尚所引导,同时也创造着风尚。当特定的风尚与道德、法律、规约相抵触时,官方颁布禁令就成了顺理成章的事。禁令对戏剧演出的影响是多方面的,但并没有使情况变得简单。风尚和禁令相互作用,构成了一个活跃而纷乱的演出生态圈,其中扮演着重要的角色是戏班和演员。
