In Going Home, Harold Pinter provides an in-depth description of the identity dilemma that women in the United Kingdom faced after World War II and the tireless efforts of new women in their quest for women’s status. As a representative of the new post-war British women, Ruth broke into a strange and brutal male territory and used her living wisdom to fully realize her personality and determine the identity of women in her journey to “go home.” This drama is Pinter’s introspective examination of the traditional relationship between men and women in this social context.
